Tassi takes first place once again
Budapest, August 19, 2018,The HELL ENERGY Racing Team with KCMG competitor Attila Tassi has earned his first victory this year in Assen. The young TCR driver has proven his talent once again and, with a racing style that is unusual for someone of his age, he left all the other competitors behind.
It was already apparent at the free practices that the summer break had done Tassi a lot of good as he reached excellent results and after the qualifying sessions he was able to book the 6th position for himself and come up one place, reaching the finish line 5th.
On Sunday at the second handicap race, he set off from the 5th position with a spectacular overtaking of his opponent and he continued on with nerves of steel leaving Azcona, who did not give the young Hungarian driver a moment’s peace, behind. Shortly after the drivers were off, the yellow flag was waved due to Dani Nagy having to forfeit, but even after the safety car left the track, Tassi held his position and thus made it to the top of the podium for the first time this year. Tassi gave an extremely mature performance after which he duly took his place at the top of the podium.
“I’m very happy to have won first place again. I started from good positions on both days, but on Sunday I was really able to get into it on the second race, the team set the car up well and I think this was the first time everything just fell into place, I’m really glad and so grateful to them, we did it together,” said Tassi.
The weekend was not so great for the other HELL ENERGY team member, Josh Files. Files was set back 3 positions due to his fouls at Hungaroring, so despite his qualifying session victory was on Sunday, he was only able to set off from the 4th position and on Sunday, he could not finish the race due to technical difficulties.
